We have developed and are
collaboratively refining our design for the GOAT plan of study
DSS. This discussion question this week focuses on evaluation of GOAT.
Discussion should focus on the following questions:
- What needs to be evaluated?
- What should be evaluated during formative evaluation (also known
as developmental testing) versus summative evaluation? How will
the testing process differ between formative and summative evaluation?
- What metrics should be used?
- What are the sources of data for the evaluation?
- How will the results of evaluation be used? What decisions will be made as a result of evaluation?
The purpose of this discussion is not to develop a detailed test plan,
but to discuss the general approach to testing GOAT. Your
discussion should consider how testing should be tied to requirements,
how formative evaluation supports evolutionary design and refinement of
requirements, and how testing can support the risk mitigation function
of the spiral lifecycle model.
