SYST 542:  Project

Students will work in groups to design and develop a decision support system of their own choosing.  Group assignments will be made by the second week of classes.  Groups may meet in person as often as necessary and are encouraged to interact virtually between meetings.  The problem you choose is entirely up to you.  You may select any implementation environment you judge appropriate for your problem and which you have available to you.

   - concept description
   - user requirements (draft)
   - project management plan

November 7
3-5 page written report (written at executive summary level) including:
- brief description of model, dialogue and data subsystems
- implementation plan (what will be implemented in your prototype)
- evaluation plan (how will you evaluate your prototype)
Final presentation November 28, December 5
  • In-class presentation of your project
  • Include demo of your system
  • Final report December 12, 7:20 PM
  • Final report 10-15 pages exclusive of appendices
  • Suggested outline for report
